« Isn’t there a danger of raising expectations when in reality, funding just isn’t available for ICT? | Main | Will VCOs want to pay for net:gain? »

Don’t VCOs want practical help first and strategy second?

Many VCOs simply don’t have the time to consider their ICT strategy, let alone the budget for it. When a problem occurs, they want to know how to fix it – a ‘sticking plaster’ approach. With net:gain, VCOs are encouraged to take a step back and look at the root of a problem. When the cause of a problem is identified, a longer term and strategic solution can be found, ultimately saving money and time. Practical help is still an important element of any ICT strategy, and services such as Circuit Riders should be incorporated into any organisation's plans, but should not be the only element of it.
