The Farmers Market will run throughout the event. Not only will attendees be able to sample fresh local produce, but it should also provoke 'food for thought' about how farmers markets/shops can contribute to the sustainability of rural communities.
Why not spend vouchers provided at the event to purchase any of the following range of produce:
- Savoury & Sweet Pies
- Pork Pies
- Pickles
- Ice cream
- Stilton
- Smoked Salmon and Meats

The products at the Okehampton Farmers market are not those that I would normally buy - too exotic and often not local farm produce. Aimed at incomers, second homers and tourists I suspect. The Farmers Market in Exeter is much the same and the prices are exorbitant at both. Created by the romantic and idealistic for ...
The local, traditional market in Hatherleigh has better products, often cheaper than the supermarkets, and brought in by local growers and producers.

I think the ruralnet|2006 Farmers Market will be more like the Hatherleigh one. East Midlands Fine Foods will be seeking to impress Centre Parcs who will want produce to be local, of high quality and cost competitive.
