Yet more helpful advice from me :-)
When I did JOGLE, I kept people up to date via a daily email. If you have someone 'back at base' that can just cut and paste the email text into your blog, that may turn out to be an easier solution to net connection issues, and may also mean you have less equipment (=less weight) to take with you. I did look at updating a blog, but it was less hassle sending an email. One downside, possibly difficult/not possible to send pictures.

Thanks Joe - I am getting to the point where I have 3 piles of stuff in my mind: 1) Stuff I'd like to take, 2) Stuff I must have and 3) Stuff I couldn't possibly manage without. The problem is I can only possibly carry the 3rd pile. So I think this is good advice.
