ruralnet|uk are pleased to announce that British Telecom (BT) and The Countryside Agency will be sponsoring their 4th annual conference, ruralnet|2004, 'Rethinking the Future for the Delivery of Rural Services'.
Support of the event has been provided from a range of organisations with an interest in rural service delivery, including:
- BT and The Countryside Agency join East England Development Agency (EEDA) as sponsors of the event,
- Local support comes from Kent Police & Neighbourhood Watch Office and Kent County Council.
ruralnet|uk are delighted to have key national players, such as BT and The Countryside Agency present to complement the local community emphasis at the event, as the need for new thinking and innovation in the way services are delivered to rural people becomes ever more prominent.
ruralnet|2004 is developing into a substantial event. In addition to keynote addresses from MP Fiona Mactaggart, Active Communities Directorate and Rt. Hon Alun Michael MP, Minister for Rural Affairs, who will both be touring the exhibition area, the carefully designed 2-day programme will incorporate plenary sessions, workshops, networking sessions, a debate, a VIP dinner and the return of the Rural Broadband Supplement for the second year running.
Simon Berry, ruralnet|uk Chief Executive, said 'I'm really pleased that BT and The Countryside Agency, as well as the RDA's and Kent Police are able to offer their support. This mixture should result in an interesting and thought-provoking event, which I am thoroughly looking forward to'.
