ruralnet|uk, the rural regeneration charity today announced expansion with a new office in London. With ruralnet|uk's profile growing each year, the premises at 1 London Bridge will be ideal as a base for meeting those based in or visiting London.
With its headquarters in Stoneleigh (the National Agricultural Centre), Warwickshire, ruralnet|uk was founded in 1986 as part of the Royal Agricultural Society of England. It is now an independent charity, which promotes a living and working countryside. It does this through helping rural communities to sustain themselves, through community development approaches, by working with partners and stakeholders, and by bringing specialist skills in the appropriate use of Information, Communication and Collaboration Technologies (ICTs).
To mark the official opening of the new office, a breakfast reception will be held on 8 April 2005 for ruralnet|uk's partners and supporters - past, present and future! Over a breakfast reception, guests will have the opportunity to meet the ruralnet|uk trustees and staff, gather information on ruralnet|uk's activities, hear plans for the future and meet other key stakeholders interested in rural regeneration. Representatives from The Countryside Agency, Defra, NCVO and many small voluntary & community groups have confirmed that they will be attending the event.
ruralnet|uk Chief Executive, Simon Berry said,
"ruralnet|uk is a small but highly effective charity and social enterprise, which counts networking and collaboration amongst its highest values. With the encouragement of our Trustees, we have decided that we need to base some of that networking in the capital, and co-location with so many other third sector agencies - some of whom are already close partners - at 1 London Bridge, is a great place to start".
