ruralnet|uk is pleased to announce that fairtrade produce suppliers, Traidcraft are sponsoring the ruralnet|2005 conference dinner.
As the UK’s leading fair trade organisation, Traidcraft works with more than 100 producer groups in over 30 countries around the world. Traidcraft has been helping producers from poor communities to work their way out of poverty since 1979. They do this through trading with them directly, by supporting them with training and information, and by influencing the policy makers to pull down the barriers which stop the poor enjoying their fair share of world trade.
Traidcraft will support the event by supplying the venue with fairly traded wine and juice for all delegates attending the evening reception.
Traidcraft Product and Brand Manager, Jenny File says,
“Traidcraft's fair trade approach is helping the vine farmers in South Africa, Chile and Argentina who supply our wine, and the citrus farmers in Cuba who supply our fruit juice, build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities. We're sure ruralnet|2005 delegates will enjoy their drinks even more knowing they are making such a positive contribution to community development”.
A prestigious part of the 2-day event, the evening drinks reception and conference dinner provides another opportunity for delegates to meet and discuss ideas. In addition, ‘Calendar Girl’ Tricia Stewart from the WI will feature as guest after-dinner speaker. Her story is expected to be an enlightening and inspiring highlight of the event.
