ruralnet|uk was today confirmed as a double shortlist entry for this year's Charity Times UK Charity Awards, in categories ‘Best Use of Technology’ and ‘Trustee Board of the Year’.
David Head, ruralnet|uk company Secretary said,
"These categories reflect very well where we have put our efforts over the last couple of years - exploiting and demystifying technology for the benefit of the rural and wider voluntary sector, and running the organisation as an effective social enterprise which balances the traditional requirements of our regulators with the need for self-sustainability. I'm particularly pleased that the board of a forward-looking social enterprise has been recognised in this way."
ruralnet|uk has been recognised for its role in promoting the use of technology in supporting rural communities, helping to enable and strengthen their local economies. This work includes the promotion of online networking between various community groups and their supporters, and online and face-to-face training, networking and consultancy.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 12th September.
