Hi Simon & Co,

Just a quick note to wish you "bon voyage".

I'll text you to confirm, but hope to meet up with you on Thursday in Whitchurch. I see that you are staying out of town so I'll meet you where you cross the A37 coming into Whitchurch from Norton Hawkfield - there's a pleasant grassy island across the road to the left where the cycle route does a stagger to cross the A37 and I'll be there - ST6164 6711.

I could then ride you through Bristol and up to the Severn Bridges and maybe a bit beyond depending on how the time is going.

As you are staying out in the Mendips what sort of time would you expect to hit Whitchurch?

Also, do you want to follow the official NCN routes as close as possible - I have assumed so, but I can look at easier routes through town if you like, but I guess that's not the point. Or would you like a guided tour?

I downloaded your Glastonbury/Whitchurch/Severn beach routes .gpx files but the Severn Beach/Gloucester one seemed to be blank - I hope the one that you have with you is better.

Good luck,

Dave Wild

Good luck to everyone. I'll be watching the log closely as things progress. Looking forward to meeting up with you on Saturday at Slaithwaite. Lets hope that the punctures stop.

Good luck

Dave Wild

We've put an item up on the Sustrans Rangers Forum with your schedule together with your last minute contact details - so hopefully you will get some more company on the way.

The Rangers are all volunteers who try their best to keep the National Cycle Network free from obstructions and overgrowing undergrowth (!) and clearly signed - but this is a constant battle against nature, vandals, etc that seem intent on confounding us. Please let us know if you encounter such problems on the way.

regards and good luck for Tuesday,
